Tutoring Program

Australian Hazara Students Group initiated its tutoring program from the local libraries in Dandenong and Narre Warren. Within a few sessions, the free tutoring and mentoring program became quite popular among the Afghan students who experienced a great deal of difficulty with their homework at school. The management committee had was forced to seek a more appropriate venue for the program as soon as the number of students began to increase.

Cultural Activities

Cultural activities have been one of Australian Hazara Students Group’s main areas of focus. Since our establishment, AHSG has been actively involved in a number of activities promoting Hazaragi culture, language and traditions. We have also been working  vigorously with other associations assisting them with their cultural activities for the Hazara community. Here’s a brief description of AHSG’s work in the field of culture and community.

Australian Hazara Federation

Delegates from over 15 organisations and associations representing Hazara communities in various Australian states and territories had gathered in Melbourne on October 30 and 31, to formally establish the Australian Hazara Federation. The Federation aims to raise the issues facing Hazara communities across Australia at the Federal level. One of the objectives of the Federation is also to empower Hazara youth through education, enlightenment and engagement.
